The Process.
My entire graduate collection from created from screen printed textiles and machine embroidery. Being inspired by Charleston house I wanted to use a technique that was reminiscent of the hand drawn styles that were expressed on the walls, therefore screen printing became my preferred medium. I absolutely love the hand made finish that you get from the screens and the little intricacies and errors that make it all the more special, no two prints are the same, as no two walls in Charleston are either.
Print it
Each design was hand drawn and painted before being repeated by hand and scanned digitally to be produced and split into layers ready for screen print.
Each layer was exposed onto a screen before being ready to print. Once the colours were picked and mixed the best part of the process could begin - the printing!
