House in Bloom.
bloom.
My screen-printed textiles collection, ‘House in Bloom’, born from a blend of inspirations, pays homage to the free-spirited decor of Charleston House and vibrant life in Brazil. These two points of inspiration make up 2 collections, ‘Threads of Brazil’ and ‘Textiles in Full Bloom’. Drawing from the exuberance of Brazilian florals, a source of inspiration ingrained in me since childhood, I have created a series of prints that are representative of this rich tapestry. Colour, a ubiquitous presence in daily life, forms the cornerstone of my collections, celebrating the sheer joy found in its myriad of shades.
Informed by the recent shift towards prioritising personal happiness over fleeting trends, my designs invite exploration and self-expression within the sanctuary of one’s home. ‘Textiles in full Bloom’ inspired by the uninhibited creativity of the Bloomsbury Group, has each been drawn with chalks and crayons to emulate the paints that were used by the group. Each textile piece exudes a sense of freedom and enjoyment, screen printing the texture onto the fabric, mirroring the eclectic charm of Charleston House.
